Cycling Holiday Tours

A “paradise on earth” at least for cyclists, Muensterland is an absolute El Dorado for quiet gentle cycling holidays, it is very flat with hardly any hills at all. As most of the routes are so easy we have found that this is a perfect area for families who would like to try a cycling tour but are a little worried about how they will manage. Our tours use mainly old farm tracks which have been asphalted and thus converted to perfect cycling byways. The tours connect a series of very comfortable family run hotels and beautiful, luxurious old castles, where, after a days cycling you can look forward to enjoying a delicious meal in pleasant surroundings. 

In terms of its size and the number of routes it offers, Muensterland is probably the only one of its kind in Europe. Its well-maintained trails are ideal and enable individual tours around any one (or more) of 70 towns throughout the Muensterland region. Of course, most tours include a trip to Münster, the official “cycling capital of Germany”, where the only way to explore the city is by bike!

Generally, because most of the routes are very flat, they provide an excellent opportunity for people who haven’t been on a bike since they were kids, to try a short weekend cycling holiday. We advise that you bring your own cycling helmet and plenty of sun cream, as it can get rather hot in the summer months.

We will provide you with all information and maps that you will need on your tour, we will also give you individual cycling routes designed to best suit your requirements. Basically we offer two different types of cycling tours Family cycling tours, catering for families on a lower budget, for the needs of children and adults alike. And luxury cycling tours which cater for the discerning client who, after a glorious days cycling would like to relax in an atmosphere of Luxury enjoying gourmet cuisine and fine wines.

Luxury Cycling Holidays

On our Luxury Cycling Tours, you can leave the hustle and bustle of city life behind you and unwind as you cycle through peaceful countryside, passing through fields of scented flowers and enjoying the continental rural lifestyle of Münsterland. We have designed our cycling routes to take you to historical settings such as old monasteries, convents and moated castles. En route you will have ample opportunity to visit restaurants, coffee shops and of course beer gartens. In the evening you can wine and dine by candlelight in a romantic chateaux surrounded by the splendour of bygone times.

Family Cycling Holidays

All hotels on our tours have en suite facilities. The design of this tour is based on the requirements of a family leisure holiday and is probably not suitable for competition cyclists( flat countryside and not very strenuous) and will take you through beautiful countryside to historical settings such as castles, old convents, a Hansel and Gretel type coffee shop (go in if you dare!) and will give you the opportunity to take a cool dip in an adventure type open air swimming facility almost every day. The swimming pools have been built basically because we are quite far from the coast and also because it gets rather warm in summer and there is a real need to be able to cool down somewhere, most small towns have them and they have good facilities including curly slides, diving boards and places to eat and drink picnic style.
